Expert Trader On How To Trade The Fed Announcement

Fari Hamzei is a weekly guest on #PreMarket Prep, a daily trading idea radio show hosted by Joel Elconin and Dennis Dick. 

Hamzei Analytics Founder Fari Hamzei shared his strategy for trading the FOMC meeting this afternoon on Benzinga's #PreMarket Prep morning show.

Hamzei recommended that intra-day traders look for opportunities in the FOMC press conference, instead of the announcement.

Hamzei said that he looks at the market on a question-by-question basis, "treating each question as a new trade." The next question, Hamzei said, could change the momentum.

Specific to the announcement, Hamzei expects interest rates to increase slightly in the coming months, though he does not expect it to have a large impact on the economy or the market. Any increase will be "just for show."
