Elon Musk Takes Swipe At IBM: Here's How He Responds To Post Asking If Company Pulled Ads From TikTok Amid Bin Laden Support

Elon Musk is angry at some of the major advertisers withdrawing their ads from X, formerly Twitter, amid allegations of antisemitism.

What Happened: In a recent post, Musk directed his dissatisfaction towards IBM Corp. (NYSE:IBM). Responding to a query about IBM's potential withdrawal of ads from TikTok over posts that supported terrorist Osama Bin Laden's manifesto, Musk wrote, "Good question. Why, @IBM? Did you?"

Musk has been reacting against nonprofit organizations like Media Matters and Anti-Defamation League (ADL) over allegations of rising antisemitism and hate speech on X.

The X owner even called Media Matters an "evil organization".

He has also been a vocal critic of ADL, holding it responsible for a nearly 60% drop in X's advertising revenue.

"In our case, they would potentially be on the hook for destroying half the value of the company, so roughly $22 billion," Musk said at the time.

Why It Matters: IBM is not the only major company that has pulled ads from X. Other companies like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS), and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. (NASDAQ:WBD) have also pulled ads.

This comes after Media Matters reported that ads of big companies like Apple, IBM, Oracle, Bravo, and Xfinity, among others, are being displayed next "to content that touts Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party."
