Report: Twinkie Titan Hostess Brands On The Block For $2 Billion

Share:

Hostess Brands LLC is for sale at $2 billion but potential buyers are balking, according to a report in the New York Post.

Apollo Global Management and billionaire C. Dean Metropoulos have put the maker of Twinkies on the block just two years after acquiring the company for $410 million out of bankruptcy, the New York Post reported.

None of Hostess' rivals have tried to preempt the process, which an unnamed source told the Post is an indication that the owners will have a hard time getting the $2 billion asking price.

Reports surfaced in November that Hostess would go on sale early in 2015 for about $1.7 billion.

Hostess' annual earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization has been variously reported at $170 million and $200 million.
