DoubleClick's Horrible Outage Might Have Ended As Quickly As It Came

DoubleClick, Google Inc's (NASDAQ: GOOG) hugely popular ad server for publishers, experienced massive issues Wednesday morning.

The service -- which is used by a number of prominent publications, including The Wall Street Journal and the BBC -- was unable to load ads for some users.

According to Business Insider, Forbes.com (which uses DoubleClick to load an ad before a page appears) struggled to load an ad earlier today.

Benzinga has tested the site on multiple browsers and found that ads are now loading, indicating that Google may have resolved the problem for some publishers.

Benzinga found no problems when checking wsj.com, mashable.com, bbc.com or businessinsider.com. Google's DoubleClick help forum was initially flooded with complaints, but some users have found that things are back to normal.

Ads also appear to be working normally on techreport.com (the site mentioned in the image above).

Twitter was initially inundated with reports of the outage, but it is now bombarded with links to stories that are merely about the outage.

DoubleClick recently provided a quick update on Twitter:
