Facebook f8 Conference Highlights

Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) held its developers conference April 30, 2014, in San Francisco. Shares of the company are up $1.51 or 2.61 to $59.66. Mark Zuckerberg talked about three major themes Wednesday: • Stability for developers: The social media giant announced that it plans on building a stable platform. • Putting people first: Facebook is also announcing that people have more control over their information. • Cross-platform tools and services: Finally, Facebook is planning on making things easier for mobile developers. “We've done a lot of work already in the past years to help you build and grow your apps," Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's co-founder and CEO, said during the presentation. "This is really the first time that we are going to help you monetize on mobile." Additionally, Facebook announced four new public content APIs to help companies tell richer stories with Facebook content and data. The company also announced that developers now have a new way to effectively monetize mobile apps. Present at its f8 conference were more than 1,700 developers.
