Samsung (OTC: SSNLF) and Globalfoundries might be building Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) ninth-generation processor.

The two firms are reportedly teaming up to vie for the A9 contract.

This news comes after reports that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE: TSM) might build the A8 processor.

Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) were forced to make an unfortunate decision this week.

The two companies had to suspend all sales of HP's Chromebook 11 after learning that the included charger may overheat.

Consumers can continue to use the ill-fated Chromebook with another charger, but HP is expected to provide a replacement as soon as possible.

First Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) quietly released the Kindle Fire HDX.

Now Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has quietly placed the iPad Mini with Retina Display on store shelves.

Samsung (OTC: SSNLF) stunned the world this week when it announced that the firm was guilty of patent infringement and owed that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) "a lot of money."

Investors who feared a Model S recall need to stop worrying.

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) co-founder and CEO insisted that a recall will not happen.

"There's definitely not gonna be a recall," he told CNBC. "There's no reason for a recall."

"The headlines are extremely misleading," Musk added. "We've never had a serious injury or death in any of our cars. Maybe there is a car that is as safe as a Model S, but there is certainly not a car that is safer, because you'd have to have less than zero [deaths]."

It's a good thing that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) released more than the iPhone 5C in September.

The plastic, colorful, over-hyped iPhone has proven to be much less successful than originally anticipated.

Its sales are expected to continue declining while the iPhone 5S is expected to rise significantly in the December quarter.

When Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN) resisted the offer to be acquired by Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), it made sense.

Groupon had a lot going for it -- and the potential to make billions all on its own.

Snapchat, on the other hand, is a simple messaging service that combines photos, videos and text. It may or may not be a fad that dies off in five years.

Even so, Facebook (NASDQ: FB) reportedly offered to buy the company for $3 billion.

Not wanting to sell, Snapchat's owners rejected the offer.

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has made a lot of headlines this week.

The most recent came after an industrial accident (not a fire as initially thought) caused three injuries at the company's factory in Fremont, California.

The injuries were caused by hot metal that resulted from a problem with a low pressure aluminum casting press.

Sony (NYSE: SNE) is expected to bring its video game business to China.

The Japanese tech giant released its fourth game console this weekend in North America.

PlayStation 4 will arrive in Europe in two weeks and in Japan in 2014.

No word on when it or another Sony console may be released in China.

Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) next iPhone could be one voluptuous smartphone.

The company is reportedly working on a curved, pressure-sensitive display for the iPhone 6.
