After years of rumors, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) finally caved and acquired the handset business from Nokia (NYSE: NOK).

From this point forward, all Lumia and Asha phones will be manufactured by Microsoft. They will now contain the Microsoft logo.

Microsoft has not announced when the first branded phone will be released, but a recent leak suggests that Nokia was on the verge of announcing a new phone before the buyout was finalized.

Could this device be re-branded as a Microsoft handset?

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) confirmed that it will hold an event in California on Tuesday, September 10.

The company took it one step further by confirming that it will also hold an event in China on September 11.

Multiple new products, including the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, are expected to be unveiled at the first event.

The second event is expected to confirm Apple's long-awaited deal with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL).

Samsung's (OTC: SSNLF) long-awaited wearable computing device was finally introduced this week.

The watch-shaped device will cost $300 and serve as a high-tech accessory to a Galaxy smartphone.

Samsung also unveiled the long-awaited Galaxy Note 3 in an attempt to undercut Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) before the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are unveiled.

Is Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) planning to unveil something besides the iPhone next week?

Rumors suggest that the company is on the cusp of upgrading its set-top box, known as Apple TV.

The rumor lacked specific details, but Apple has been rumored to bring apps to Apple TV for several months.

It must have been hard for BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) to watch Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) acquire a piece of Nokia (NYSE: NOK) this week.

After all, BlackBerry's entire business could be cheaper than the $7.2 billion Microsoft spent on Nokia's handset division.

The word on the street is that BlackBerry hopes to have its auction wrapped up by November.

Madden NFL 25, the Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA) game celebrating the series' 25th anniversary, has been off to a rough start this year.

While last year's edition sold more than 1.6 million copies in its first week, the latest edition only moved one million units during its first week at retail.

This is partially due to platform limitations. Madden NFL 25 is currently available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and iOS.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will not be available until those consoles ship in November.

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) may be giving its customers a hefty Christmas present.

The company may return as much as $3.82 for Kindle individual books that were downloaded online.

For those who purchased several e-books, the payday could be quite sizeable.

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) is once again rumored to be making larger handsets.

This time around, the rumors claimed that Apple is experimenting with handsets that are in the 4.8-inch to six-inch range.

None of them are expected to be released this year, however.

Is there any such thing as an accidental leak in technology?

That's hard to say. But it seems that Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) may not have wanted the Nexus 5 to be revealed just yet.

For better or worse, the new device appeared in a YouTube video that was quickly removed from the Internet.

Of course, this only made people think that the video's tease is real.
