Wednesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 102,000 head versus a year ago at 114,000 head.

Live cattle futures traded rangebound and a little choppy around the unchanged level for most of the trading session. October Live Cattle was trading at 148.17, down 0.02 and December Live Cattle was trading at 149.75, up 0.02.
