Walmart, A 'Miniature Berkshire Hathaway' And Wait For Earnings Before Buying Salesforce: CNBC's 'Final Trades'

On CNBC’s “Halftime Report Final Trades,” Joseph Terranova of Virtus Investment Partners named Walmart Inc (NYSE: WMT), which was a Black Friday winner. Grocery, electronics and toys are “all good,” he said.

Analysts agree, giving WMT a conseunsus Buy rating, according to Benzinga data.

Jenny Harrington of Gilman Hill Asset Management said Compass Inc (NYSE: COMP) is a consumer stock that is like a “miniature Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A)(NYSE: BRK-B).” Compass owns companies like Marucci Sports and ERGObaby, Harrington mentioned. It offers around a 5% yield and trades at less than 10 times earnings, she added.

Jim Lebenthal of Cerity Partners said he decided to not buy shares of Salesforce Inc (NYSE: CRM) ahead of the earnings release.
