Apple loves to flood the market with new iPhones, iPads and MacBooks every year. Soon Apple Watch will likely be added to the list of devices that receive an upgrade every 12 months.

There is one product that continues to be ignored, however: Apple TV.

"The whole battle for rights and the role of the TV and the connected home and that sort of thing is still being defined," Dan Miller, senior analyst and founder of Opus Research, told Benzinga.

"What goes on in the home is going to be content-driven. There's no need to upgrade the hardware at this point unless things sort out."

In other words, it could be a while before the next Apple TV is released.

Facebook's 'Brilliant' Search Feature Could Take On Google

Facebook, the world's largest social network, upgraded its search function this week with the ability to search for old posts.

It might sound like a simple tweak, but the ramifications could be huge.

"The average person's [social graph] search results are different from the [search results of the] people they work with, and also different from their friends' search results," Dan Miller, senior analyst and founder of Opus Research, told Benzinga.

"I honestly think it does have the chance to move some of the traffic off of Google."

Miller referred to it as a "brilliant" addition to Facebook.

Sony Ignored Hackers' Threats - Here's Why

Sony is experiencing a world of hurt after hackers took down its email system, leaked movies and revealed private messages between execs and producers.

The company reportedly knew about the hack before it occurred, but Sony apparently ignored those threats. Why?

"I think the challenge from their perspective is they probably get a lot of warnings that they're gonna be hacked or there's going to be a breach," security expert Scott Schober told Benzinga.

Yahoo announced that it will be hosting its first developer conference. Not surprisingly, the conference will focus on mobile development.

"Yahoo is trying," tech industry expert and analyst Jeff Kagan told Benzinga.

"It's not just sitting back and letting the world tear it apart and shrink its market share. It's trying -- it's fighting back -- it just hasn't had a lot of success."
