Andrew Tate's 'Real World Portal' App Faces Double Ban on Apple and Google Platforms
Apple has also removed Andrew Tate’s controversial app from its platform, following Google’s earlier decision to do the same.
What Happened: Tate, a former professional kickboxer known for his online presence and prior controversies regarding the promotion of male supremacy and female subservience, now faces a double blow as his app, “Real World Portal,” was taken down from both Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store, reported The Guardian.
The app’s removal followed a letter from McCue Jury & Partners — a legal firm representing four British women accusing Tate of sexual and physical assault — addressed to Apple, questioning its hosting of the app and potential corporate liability.
The app has been scrutinized due to allegations of promoting misogyny and encouraging harmful behavior towards women.
McCue Jury & Partners asserted that “Real World Portal” actively targeted young men and provided a platform for exchanging techniques to control and exploit women.
Additionally, there were claims that the app operated as an illegal pyramid scheme.
Users were reportedly charged $49.99 monthly to join the platform, raising concerns about its financial structure.
A spokesperson for Tate defended the app, denying allegations of operating as a pyramid scheme or promoting harmful techniques. The report noted that they emphasized the app’s educational value and positive impact on its user community.
“The user community, which includes a significant number of women within the 200,000-strong user base, can attest to the positive impact and educational value the app provides,” the spokesperson said.
Adding, “Accusations suggesting otherwise are unfounded, lacking credible evidence, and seem to be part of a targeted campaign against Andrew Tate, a known supporter and promoter of the platform.”
Why It’s Important: For the unversed, Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, hold both U.S. and British citizenship.
The brothers were subject to house arrest in Romania since December last year while authorities probed allegations of mistreatment by seven women who claimed they had been deceived with false promises of relationships.
They were released last month.
