'Tick Tock, Motherf***ker': UAW Chief Uses Samuel L Jackson Clip To Rile Up Automakers Amid Strikes

In a recent update, United Auto Workers (UAW) boss Shawn Fain used a famous movie clip to convey his stance on the ongoing negotiations with major automakers,  The Hill reported.

Fain posted a scene from a 2017 film called “The Hitman's Bodyguard,” on X, earlier known as Twitter. The scene features Samuel L. Jackson shouting an iconic line: "Tick tock, motherf***er!"

This post is presumably a playful jab at automakers Stellantis NVFord Motor Company, and General Motors Company as UAW strikes against all three simultaneously for the first time. The union and the auto manufacturers couldn’t reach an agreement by the specified Friday deadline, leading to the strike.

A recent poll by Morning Consult revealed that a majority of Americans, 54%, back the strike.

The UAW’s stance has received bipartisan support, from President Joe Biden to former Vice President Mike Pence. However, UAW is holding back its 2024 endorsement, with Fain stating they "expect action, not words."

On CBS’s "Face the Nation" on Sunday, Fain emphasized that the fight is about workers receiving their fair share of economic justice.
