Amid Elon Musk-ADL Controversy, X Corp CEO Claims Platform Fighting Antisemitism — Faces Strong Backlash
Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X Corp., is under fire for her claims that the company is combatting antisemitism, following owner Elon Musk’s announcement to sue the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Fortune reported.
Yaccarino shared a blog post titled “Our ongoing commitment to combat antisemitism on X” on X, previously known as Twitter. Users responded with accusations that she seemed to be overlooking Musk’s actions.
Musk, who hired Yaccarino in May, blames the ADL for a 60% drop in the company’s U.S. advertising revenue. This follows the ADL’s report of increased harmful content on the platform since Musk took over.
The ADL labeled Musk’s actions as a “dangerous and deeply irresponsible” campaign. It released an audit in March showing a record 36% rise in antisemitic incidents in the US in 2022.
Musk also sought to block a California law aimed at exposing hate speech sources this week, further stirring controversy.
