Google Wallet Spreads Holiday Cheer With Animations: Watch Cat In Sweaters Rolling On Screen After Making Payment

Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Google Wallet on Android has added a touch of holiday spirit in the form of animation on the Google Pay screen. 

What Happened: For the holidays, Google Wallet will display a number of post-transaction animations for customers to enjoy. These animations will usually occur after a payment has been done by an Android smartwatch or smartphone, and a confirmation checkmark with a blue circle appears.

One of the animations includes a cat covered in many holiday sweaters, rolling off the screen to reveal the Google Pay icon. In another animation, users can see marshmallows drinking hot chocolate in a mug, reported 9To5Google. 

Not every purchase or payment will morph into an animation though. Users will have to keep an eye out for these animations, as they are easy to miss if they lock their screen or swipe out of the screen immediately. 

Google has a track record of adding fancy characters on the screen during holidays.

In 2017, when the service was still called Android Pay, the green figurine changed into Justice League superheroes, the report noted.
