Lions Gate Teams With Vimeo For First-Of-Its-Kind Content Deal

Vimeo’s global television store is going to a lot of award winning content next month under a brand new deal with Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (USA) (NYSE: LGF).

Under the first-of-its-kind deal for a studio, titles such as “Mad Men,” “Nurse Jackie” and “Orange Is The New Black” will be available on Vimeo in over 150 countries worldwide. Lions Gate will also add in many of its movie titles to the rental initiative for U.S. audiences.

The chairman and senior executive of Vimeo parent company IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ: IAC), Barry Diller, gave a little more details on the scope of the alliance as part of a statement released to the media.

“Their television slate includes nearly 80 series on 40 different networks, and they are a great partner with whom to kick off a service that will bring premium scripted shows from the U.S. to our hundreds of millions of viewers around the world," he said.

Pricing on the episodes is still to be announced and will debut on October 18.
