Alibaba Teams Up With SoftBank For New Cloud Computing Service In Japan

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE: BABA) announced on Friday that it will team up with Japan-based SoftBank to bring cloud solutions to the country.

The joint venture will result in a company named SB Cloud Corporation and will utilize technologies and solutions from Alibaba Cloud, including data storage and processing services, enterprise-level middleware and cloud security services. SB Cloud will open a new data center in Japan and will meet the various needs of Japanese customers in various sizes from startups to multinational companies.

Alibaba said SB Cloud will play a key role in supporting its cloud business, especially in Japan where the market is rapidly growing.
