Rumor: Apple iPhone 7 To Be Thin
According to 9to5Mac, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)'s yet-to-be announced iPhone 7 smartphone is expected to be 1mm thinner than the iPhone 6s and retain the same metal design, same height and width, and will not be waterproof.
The popular Apple-related blog, citing a report from Macotakara, noted that the iPhone 6s is currently 7.1 mm thin, while the iPod touch is 6.11 mm thick.
The iPhone 7 may also feature stereo speakers, rather than a single mono speaker. The new phone may also contain a thinner Lightning port but this is not an indication the phone will require a new cable or connector.
Finally, 9to5Mac reported earlier this year that Apple is working on releasing a cord-free pair of Beats headphone to "help ease the transition to life without a 3.5 mm headphone jack." However, the headphones will likely be sold separate from the iPhone 7.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be introduced later on this year, perhaps in September with availability to follow shortly.
