Perry Ellis Evaluating A Potential Sale Of Its Women's Business
Perry Ellis International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PERY) is considering a sale of its women's apparel business, according to two of the company's top figures.
Speaking to the New York Post, Perry Ellis' Chairman George Feldenkreis stated that the company is looking to sell its two women's apparel lines, Laundry by Shelli Segal and Rafaella labels. The two segments combined for $435 million in sales during 2015 and make up 15 percent of Perry Ellis' portfolio.
Perry Ellis' Chief Financial Officer, Anita Britt, added that Perry Ellis isn't "marketing" the brands, but "everything is for sale at a price."
The executive also added that "women's clothing is the most challenging part of the market."
Shares of Perry Ellis have lost more than 30 percent over the past year.
