Index Shuffling: Extra Space Storage To Join S&P 500, EPR Properties To Join MidCap 400, WWE To Join SmallCap 600
S&P Dow Jones announced on Wednesday several changes to its S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices.
Extra Space Storage, Inc. (NYSE: EXR) will replace Chubb Corp (NYSE: CB) in the S&P 500 index as the company was acquired by ACE Limited (NYSE: ACE).
EPR Properties (NYSE: EPR), a self-administered REIT company, will replace Extra Space Storage in the S&P MidCap 400 index while US Concrete Inc (NASDAQ: USCR) will replace EPR Properties in the S&P SmallCap 600 index.
Finally, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) will replace Wausau Paper Corp. (NYSE: WPP) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index as the exiting company has been acquired by Sweden-based SCA.
Of note, shares of WWE jumped higher by more than 4 percent early Thursday morning and were trading at $16.70.
