Probes Reporter: Walgreens Facing Undisclosed SEC Investigation

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ: WBA) faces an ongoing SEC investigation that the company has not yet disclosed, according to a report by Probes Reporter.

Probes Reporter stated that it received information from the SEC in the form of a letter dated September 24, 2015, that Walgreens Boots was involved in an "unspecified SEC investigative activity" that was undisclosed at the time.

The report added that in a letter dated November 20, 2015, the SEC confirmed Walgreens Boots involvement in an ongoing "enforcement proceedings."

"All we know about the SEC probe at this time is that it somehow pertains to the conduct, transactions, and/or disclosures of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (fka, Walgreen Co.)," Probes Reporter wrote.

Shares of Walgreens were trading higher by more than 1 percent early Friday morning at $82.00.
