Fortune: These Are The Five Worst Investments You Could Have Made During 2015

As 2015 comes to an end, Fortune has compiled a list of the five worst investment classes and ideas that plagued investors during the year.

1. Oil/Energy: 25 of the worst 30 performing stocks within the S&P 500 index were stocks in the energy sector.

2. Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MU): Shares of Micron fell more than 58 percent in 2015 as the company "completely whiffed on its earnings expectations."

3. Brazil: 2015 proved to be a difficult environment for emerging markets, but a slowdown of growth in China hurt countries like Brazil, which depend on exporting its commodities to China.

4. Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ: WYNN): Wynn Resorts caters to "China's economic elite," which also happens to be a group that has been "wary to spend."

5. Macy's, Inc. (NYSE: M): Macy's sheer size isn't "enough to save it" from ongoing shifts in the retail industry. In addition, consumers have shown a willingness to "move away" from its "bread-and-butter" products – apparel.
