TASER Reports Multiple New Orders For Its Next-Generation Smart Weapons

TASER International, Inc. (NASDAQ: TASR) on Monday announced it has received multiple orders for its next generation Smart Weapons. The company added that the orders are expected to ship in the fourth quarter.

Of note, the Toronto Police Service ordered 450 X2 Smart Weapons. The Toronto Sun reported on October 19 that the members of the Toronto Police Services Board voted to replace its older models with a total of 522 new Tasers worth almost $1.32 million.

Other large orders include 174 X26Ps from the Dallas Police Department and 115 X2s from the Minneapolis Police Department.

Shares of Taser were up about 2 percent in Monday's pre-market session following the announcement. The stock has lost more than 36 percent year-to-date.
