Apple Aims To Read Your Mind
The tech world is changing quickly in an effort to draw in customers' attention as products become smarter and smarter. With a wide range of smartphones and tablets already on the market, it can be difficult for brands to highlight what makes their products stand apart from others.
One way companies like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOG) are hoping to do that is by using Artificial Intelligence.
Smart Machines
AI is a form of machine learning, or giving computers the ability to learn and anticipate after detecting a pattern. Not only would such technology make sifting through large reams of data faster and easier, but it could revolutionize consumer devices like smartphones and tablets by learning about a user's habits and anticipating their needs.

Virtual Assistants
One way AI could be applied to smartphones would be by developing the phones' assistants like Apple's Siri or Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT)'s Cortana. While the assistants can currently perform tasks that a user dictates, machine-learning would mean the assistants are able to figure out what a user might want before the user asks for it.
Apple Ramps Up Hiring
On Monday, Reuters reported that Apple is moving full stream ahead with its AI plans— the company is planning to hire dozens of AI-based jobs. New job postings by the tech giant suggest that Apple is hoping to attract new talent with experience in machine learning. Most analysts believe that Apple is planning to overtake Google's Android system with sophisticated AI technology that is able to enhance the user experience by anticipating habits and needs.
