Facebook Wants To Help Journalists Find Breaking Tech News

Share:

The Next Web is reporting that Facebook Inc (NASDAQ: FB) launched a new page called FB Techwire, providing journalists and tech fans a new venue to explore breaking tech news in real-time, powered by Storyful.

According to the FB Techwire page, the new service "surfaces original news and analysis posted publicly on Facebook by influencers and organizations."

The page also states that "with every breaking tech story, debate, launch or event we will find, verify and share the most relevant and high-value content to the tech community on Facebook in real-time."

Content will also be tweeted through the handle @fbtechwire despite The Next Web's claim that the service is "clearly an attempt to draw attention away from Twitter, which has become known as a valuable resource for journalists in breaking news stories."
