Pentagon Announces U.S. Air Strike Against ISIL
Pentagon Press Secretary, Rear Admiral John Kirby, tweeted Friday morning that U.S. military aircraft struck ISIL artillery.

The Pentagon confirmed the U.S. conducted the airstrike at 6:45 a.m. EDT, as two F-18A's dropped 500 pound bombs, according to Bloomberg.
Crude oil futures jumped $0.30 on the news and gold showed a muted response, while U.S. stock futures dropped three points.
Markets are likely in a wait-and-see mode regarding the scope and depth of the air campaign.
