Pentagon Announces U.S. Air Strike Against ISIL

Share:

Pentagon Press Secretary, Rear Admiral John Kirby, tweeted Friday morning that U.S. military aircraft struck ISIL artillery.

The Pentagon confirmed the U.S. conducted the airstrike at 6:45 a.m. EDT, as two F-18A's dropped 500 pound bombs, according to Bloomberg.

Crude oil futures jumped $0.30 on the news and gold showed a muted response, while U.S. stock futures dropped three points.

Markets are likely in a wait-and-see mode regarding the scope and depth of the air campaign.
