Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) will hold an event on Tuesday, May 20 to unveil something.
No one knows exactly what that something will be, but many assume it will be related to the company's miniature Surface tablet.

Stylus Enhanced
One of the more intriguing rumors is that the Surface Mini could be stylus-enhanced.
According to Tech Times, the seven-inch tablet will include a Wacom digitizer that will provide "advanced stylus support."
This could be a significant feature for artists on the go, or anyone who wants to doodle on a tablet.
It might be less exciting to those who were hoping for a more substantial innovation.

iPad-Style Aspect Ratio
Last fall, IHS iSuppli told CNET that it believes (knows?) that the Surface Mini's display will contain a familiar 4:3 aspect ratio.
The tablet is also expected to feature a display resolution of 1,400 x 1,050 pixels, which is significantly lower than the 2,048 x 1,536 resolution that is offered by Apple's iPad Mini with Retina Display.

An 8.5-Inc Display
Most rumors claim that the Surface Mini will feature a display that is no bigger than 7.9 inches.
According to Digital Trends, the tablet might actually be slightly bigger than that and offer a screen that measures 8.5 inches diagonally.

Windows 8.1 Or Windows RT?
Few believe that Microsoft will ship Surface Mini that uses Windows 8.1 over Windows RT.
But the aforementioned Digital Trends report indicates that Microsoft could bring the full-fledged desktop OS to its tiniest tablet.
This could be huge for the company, and would likely to put the older Surface tablets out of business.

Qualcomm Processors
According to Bloomberg, Microsoft will use Qualcomm processors to power the Surface Mini.
Microsoft and Qualcomm have been rumored to be working on a Surface tablet together for nearly a year.

It May Not Be A Surface Mini At All
According to The Verge, Microsoft might unveil a different tablet at its event this week: Surface Pro 3.
The Windows maker denied that a Windows 8.1 update would support a Surface Pro 3 camera, as previously indicated. Microsoft claims that was simply a typo.
But a report by CNET indicates that an Intel Haswell-powered Surface Pro 3 is on the way.
Whether or not it will be unveiled next week remains to be seen.
