In just two days, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) will unveil at least one new tablet.

The company is expected to introduce two models -- the fifth-generation iPad and the second-generation iPad Mini.

Apple is also rumored to unveil new iMac and MacBook Pro units, and spend more time hyping the long-awaited Mac Pro upgrade.

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) app revenue rose from 25 percent of the total market to 35 percent.

During this same period, Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) App Store revenue dropped from 75 percent to 65 percent.

While Apple is still in the lead (nearly doubling Google's app revenue), this fluctuation shows that Google is slowly closing the gap.

Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) highly-anticipated plastic iPhone proved to be very colorful, but retailers haven't been seeing much green.

Consequently, Apple reportedly reduced the number of iPhone 5C units it ordered from suppliers.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5S continues to sell like hotcakes.

The iPhone 5C may not be popular with Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) customers who want the latest and greatest handset, but it has proved to be popular with one carrier: Virgin Mobile USA.

Virgin Mobile has been selling out of select iPhone 5C units.

The low price (Virgin Mobile's contract-free 16GB iPhone 5C retails for just $449 -- $100 less than the MSRP) could be responsible.

There's an unconfirmed report that Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) is building a smartphone with HTC (OTC: HTCKF).

This unusual pairing comes after a year's worth of rumors claimed that Amazon would build its own smartphone.

Nothing has come from the rumors, however, indicating that Amazon is not yet ready to go public with its plans -- regardless of its manufacturing partner.

In a move that got the press buzzing with curiosity and excitement, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) hired Angela Ahrendts.

Famous for serving as Burberry's CEO, Ahrendts will join Apple as the company's Senior VP of Retail and Online Stores.

Sony (NYSE: SNE) is looking beyond the confines of network and cable television.

The Japanese tech giant and entertainment empire announced that it is teaming up with Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) -- and Damages creators Daniel Zelman, Glenn Kessler and Todd A. Kessler -- for a new series.

Sony will begin to film the series in early 2014. A release date has not been set, but Netflix will publish all episodes in all Netflix territories simultaneously.

Is the iWatch real? No one knows for sure.

But the rumor mill provided an interesting tidbit: it seems that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) may have selected a supplier to build a smart watch for the company.

Apple also chose a supplier for its 12-inch iPad, or so the rumor claims.

Nintendo's (OTC: NTDOY) troubled Wii U may have been hurt by confusion and misinformation.

Christine Arrington, the Senior Games Analyst at IHS Electronics & Media (NYSE: IHS), told Benzinga that retail store employees thought that Wii U and the original Wii were the same.

"I did the secret shopper kind of thing, and they would say, 'Well, there's no difference between the Wii and Wii U,'" she said.

Facebook (NASDAQ: FB), the world's most popular social network, made a small acquisition this week.

The company acquired Onavo, a company that makes data compression software.

Facebook will reportedly use the company to help more people connect to the Internet.
