Are Howard Stern's Fart Jokes Worth $600 Million?

Share:

When is $600 million not enough? When you're Howard (Effin') Stern, of course. Stern is still suing Sirius Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) for performance bonuses he claims are due to him. Sirius claims Stern did not meet the performance metrics it set out for him, while Stern claims he did.

The shock jock with an obsession for beautiful women and locker room humor took his act to Sirius Radio in 2005, shortly after Janet Jackson's nipple sent America into a reactionary tizzy about what could, and could not, be said on TV and radio.

Sirius, as a satellite radio service, is not restricted by the FCC and allowed Stern maximum creative control over the fart, midget, lesbian, and genitalia jokes his audience came to love.
