Markets Worried About Sovereign Risk ; CNBC
Analysts expect markets to remain volatile this week. In an interview with CNBC, Art Cashin, director of floor operation at UBS Financial Services, expressed his views about the market.
Cashin told CNBC, “I think everyone’s been hoping for some end-of-quarter window dressing to move things up. But the way things are acting right now, this is more like window washing, we’re not really getting anywhere." He stressed that the Greek debt problem has had markets worried about sovereign risk. He also said that this is the primary reason why markets are not responding to positive economic data.
Greece is struggling to reduce its deficit to 8.7 percent of its GDP.
