The Electric Pickup Concept Will Continue To Evolve In 2024

The EV king, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) got its long-awaited electric pickup on the road before 2023 ended. But its competitors, namely BYD Company Limited (OTC: BYDDY) accelerated during the last quarter of the year and surpassed Tesla for the first time, quarter-wise, although the EV king still sold the most EVs during the full year, meeting its target of 1.8 million deliveries. But 2024 kicked off with news of a new entrant entering the electric pickup game, challenging Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ: RIVN) and the pickup king, Ford Motor (NYSE: F), with the latter announcing on Wednesday it will be increasing the price of some of its 2024 F-150 Lightning models, while lowering the costs of the most expensive versions of its electric pickup. Also, Worksport Ltd (NASDAQ: WKSP) who agreed to make a customized version of its solar-powered tonneau cover SOLIS and portable battery system COR for Hyundai Motor Company (PTC: HYMTF) Santa Cruz, just revealed it is ramping up its production capacity. Interestingly, Hyundai, who owns Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands, ended the 2023 race by surpassing Ford Motor and General Motors (NYSE: F) in U.S. EV sales, getting right behind Tesla.

Workport Announces Plans For Second Soft Cover Factory While Ramping Up Production At Existing Factory

Worksport revealed it is planning second soft cover factory, while ramping up production at its hard folding state-of-the-art factory in Buffalo, New York. Worksport is developing its SOLIS solar-powered tonneau cover and the COR portable system, a power duo that promises to raise the bar in automotive aftermarket standards by bringing eco-friendliness, affordability, and practicality in the transport equation. This power duo does not only promise to extend the mileage of EV pickups, addressing the range issue, but also holds the promise of a more sustainable future of transportation powered by renewable energy solutions. Additionally, the COR portable battery system is designed to be utilized independently, bringing the ability to power remote locations.
