iPhone And iPad Security Flaw Discovered

Share:

An Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) security flaw was discovered by Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC) proved that any device running iOS, including the iPhone and iPad, is at risk of being taken over completely by evildoers and leaving the owner with a useless hunk of plastic, according to CrunchGear.

The flaw occurs when mobile Safari encounters PDF documents. When the browser opens a PDF, the "bad guys" have the opportunity to inject a code that ends up taking over the device.

The only way around this is to jailbreak the device, then install a precautionary PDF opening application that warns the user every time they try to do so.

Symantec has begged Apple to fix the flaw, which currently only exists on paper. Let the countdown begin.
