Rovi Announces Licensing Deal With Apple, Shares Jump (ROVI, AAPL)
Rovi Corporation (NASDAQ: ROVI) jumped more than 7% Monday, after the software company reported a multi-year licensing deal with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL).
Rovi said in an SEC filing that the deal covers intellectual property, although further details were not mentioned. Until last year, Rovi was known as Macrovision Solutions. The company provides software for the discovery and management of entertainment content and copy-protection technology for media firms.
Rovi shares are up 7.8% this afternoon, to $45.87.
