Brett Fave Announces Comeback

Share:

Brett Favre is currently holding a press conference to announce he is returning to play quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.

Favre had earlier announced that he might be retiring if his ankle injury did not heal properly.

Favre was at practice earlier today with the Vikings, just a few days after the team had finished training camp for its upcoming 2010 season. Yesterday, teammates K Ryan Longwell, DE Jared Allen and OG Steve Hutchinson flew down to see Favre in his hometown of Hattiesburg, MS.

"It was very tough, obviously," Favre said about making the decision to comeback. "I could make a case for both, playing; not playing," Favre said. "I think ultimately much as been made about three guys coming down. It was really about the team."

Favre supposedly will get a raise this year to come back and play. Favre, who was scheduled to make $13 million this season, will reportedly have a base salary of $16.5 million, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

Favre had a career year last year playing for the Vikings, with a completion percentage of 68.4, a quarterback rating of 107.2 and the fewest interceptions in a season (7). Favre also threw for 4,202 yards.
