Starfield's Latest Update Unveils Deep Learning, Instant Food, Graphics Choices At Last

Starfield's latest update, patch 1.8.86, has been rolled out for PC and Xbox Series X/S after successful beta testing.

This update introduces DLSS support, offering enhancements like DLSS Super Resolution and Nvidia Reflex Low Latency for compatible Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ: NVDA) graphics cards, Kotaku reported.

Additionally, it brings long-awaited graphical options, bug fixes, and gameplay improvements.

DLSS support marks a significant addition after a series of community controversies and unofficial mods.

Alongside this, players can now consume food items found in the game world instantly, eliminating the need to pick them up first. This small change aims to enhance immersion and reduce time spent navigating menus.

Graphical improvements include the addition of brightness, contrast sliders, and HDR settings, rectifying the absence of these basic features in the initial release.

The patch addresses various performance and stability issues, including memory leaks, GPU optimizations, and renderer threading enhancements.

Moreover, the update addresses gameplay adjustments such as tweaking stealth mechanics and fixing issues with NPCs, weapon firing, skill challenges, and inventory glitches.

Finally, the patch notes detail numerous quest-related fixes, rectifying issues that could block quest progression, prevent access to certain areas, or hinder interactions with in-game characters.
