Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBD) NetherRealm has just dropped a fresh patch for Mortal Kombat 1, the popular fighting game, and while the complete patch notes remain undisclosed, players have quickly identified significant gameplay alterations.

The standout modification is the nerf to Cyrax's Horizontal Kopter Chopper Kameo assist, a move that had dominated the game's meta. This move now demands a full bar of energy, effectively limiting its frequency of use, IGN reported.

Additionally, there are adjustments to tagging moves, which are expected to facilitate training sessions in the fighting game community. Baraka received a substantial damage reduction and a Halloween-themed transformation has been introduced to Johnny Cage's mansion stage.

Gamers are still piecing together the full extent of this patch, available on consoles, with the PlayStation 5 version weighing in at 8.5GB.

The in-game patch notes for version 0.134 indicate several additions, including a Halloween Fatality in the Premium Store and the ability to pin moves to the HUD.

Notably, there's mention of a Fatality sale in Mortal Kombat 1, sparking heated discussions about the game's contentious monetization, although it hasn't been implemented yet.

However, there's no word on a new patch for the Nintendo Switch version, which has faced criticism for performance issues and subpar graphics quality.
