Mortal Kombat 1 For Nintendo Switch Under Fire: Low-Quality Experience At $70

The recently released Warner Bros. Discovery Inc's (NASDAQ: WBD) Mortal Kombat 1 game, available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, has faced heavy criticism, particularly on the Switch platform.

The Switch version was criticized for its visual bugs, poor performance and lower quality compared to its counterparts on more powerful consoles, Kotaku reported.

Despite being expected to have some downgrades due to the Switch's hardware limitations, Mortal Kombat 1 on the platform suffers from extremely low-resolution textures, odd character models and frequent drops in frame rates, making the gameplay experience choppy and unenjoyable.

Additionally, long loading times, frequent micro-loads, and obtrusive loading screens disrupt the game's flow and immersion on Nintendo ADR's (OTC: NTDOY) handheld device.

While the Switch version attempts to include all the content from Mortal Kombat 1, it is considered ambitious but ultimately falls short of the quality expected for a $70 game, especially when compared to the superior PlayStation and Xbox versions.

Also noted was that it was peculiar the game was released on the Switch but not on the previous-generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles, which could likely offer a better-looking experience.
