AI-Powered Playlist Art: YouTube Music Puts You In Control

Alphabet Inc's (NASDAQ: GOOGL) YouTube Music has introduced a feature allowing users to change the cover art of their playlists.

While it doesn't permit the upload of custom images, it provides the option to create custom cover art using generative artificial intelligence (AI), The Verge reported.

Users can access this feature by tapping the pen icon on the playlist's cover art, then selecting a category, such as animals, food and drink, colors, nature, or travel.

This feature is initially available only to English language users in the US, with plans to expand globally in the future.

Before this update, YouTube automatically generated playlist cover art by merging art from the first four songs in the playlist. This new feature allows users to create a more personalized and thematic representation of their playlists.

YouTube Music also revealed other upcoming features, including a "speed dial" feature for quick access to frequently listened-to content on the homepage. These updates are part of YouTube Music's efforts to enhance its music streaming service and compete with platforms like Spotify Technology SA (NYSE: SPOT).
