European Markets Close Higher

European markets are now closed. Stock markets across Europe performed as follows:

The UK FTSE rose 0.3%.

The German DAX added 0.8%.

The French CAC gained 0.8%.

The Spanish IBEX tacked on 1.2%.

The Portuguese PSI jumped 0.8%.

Positive economic data out of the U.S. and M&A activity in the auto sector helped propel stocks higher despite euro zone debt worries.
