European Markets Close Mostly Lower

European markets are now closed. Stock markets across Europe performed as follows:

The U.K. FTSE finished down 0.03%.

The German DAX closed up 0.05%.

The French CAC slipped 0.5%.

The Spanish IBEX dropped 0.8%.

The Portuguese PSI tumbled 1.5%.

Investors continued to dump stocks and the euro on mounting worries over Ireland's debt woes. The euro is currently down 0.84% against the greenback.
