This Expert Likes ResearchKit, Notes That Apple 'Will Sit In The Middle Of It All'
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) on Monday presented several new items. The company announced that ResearchKit, which turns the iPhone into a "powerful diagnostic tool," would be among the launches. It is scheduled for next month and will be open source.
Quantum Trading Strategies CIO Sean Udall weighed in on the ResearchKit.
"One of my long running ‘Bull Cases' (since iPhone 5S) for Apple has been the entry into medical monitoring market," he told Benzinga. "This has all come about from the software & hardware innovations that started with the iPhone 5S and has accelerated further with the iPhone 6's. Thus the Watch will be the next big step in medical monitoring and research. This is a potentially huge market."

The Potential
Udall explained via email why the medical monitoring segment has such potential: "think of the intersection between/of -- the patient, the Dr., the hospital, the Lab, and of course the disease/ailment being treated... Now after digesting that... think of the time to diagnose/analyze, then recommend/prescribe treatment, then monitor the progress of healing/cure. AAPL will sit in the middle of it all = Bingo."
Shares of Apple traded recently at $125.85, down 0.6 percent.
